Connect your own domain
Show your store at your own address by adding DNS records and verifying the domain.
Updated 2 min read7 steps
Show your store at your own web address, such as shop.yourbrand.com, instead of the StoreLine subdomain it comes with. You need a domain you have already bought from a domain provider.
Before you start
- Only the store Owner or an Admin can manage domains.
- Your plan sets how many custom domains you can connect. The Domains page shows how many you've used.

Step 1
Go to Settings → Storefront → Domains.Step 2
Under Add a custom domain, type your domain without https:// (for example shop.example.com) and click Add domain.Step 3
StoreLine shows the DNS records to add. Keep this page open.Step 4
Log in to the company where you bought your domain and open its DNS settings (sometimes called "DNS management" or "Zone editor").Step 5
Add each record exactly as shown, copying the Type, Host and Value with the copy buttons. Remove any older record with the same host. You need both the routing record (CNAME or A) and the TXT record.Step 6
Come back and click Verify now.Step 7
Once you see "is verified", click Set as primary to make it your store's main address. Your StoreLine subdomain then redirects to it.Screenshotdomains-dns-records-pendingScreenshotdomains-verified-set-primary
The records you add
- CNAME points your domain to your store.
- A is shown for a root domain (like example.com). Use it if your provider doesn't allow a CNAME on the root.
- TXT on _storeline-verify.your-domain proves you own the domain.
Always copy the values from your Domains page. They are specific to your domain.
Tips and common mistakes
- DNS changes take time. They can take up to 48 hours to spread, usually much less. If verification fails at first, wait and click Verify now again. The message tells you which record is still missing or wrong.
- Add both records. A domain that points to your store but has no TXT record (or the other way round) is not verified.
- www and the root are separate. To use both example.com and www.example.com, add each one. Visitors are redirected to whichever is primary.
- The SSL certificate (https) is issued automatically after verification.
FAQ
Yes, with Remove. The domain stops showing your store. If it was primary, your StoreLine subdomain becomes primary again. You can add it later, but you'll need to verify it again.
Each domain can be used by only one store. Remove it from the other store first.
